After Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead inside their New Mexico home, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adam Mendoza has called the circumstances “suspicious,” noting in an affidavit police did “not locate signs of a carbon monoxide leak or poisoning.” Mendoza also shared the couple could have been dead for weeks as their bodies had mummified parts upon discovery.
